Meryll formed in October
of 2003 in Austin, Texas. Kyle Bradshaw (guitar)
and Andrew Hernandez(vocals, guitar) had been in
a previous band together in high school, while Alex
Dupree (keys) and Art Silva (bass/drums) came on
board after meeting Andrew at the University of
Texas.
The group began playing shows in Texas where they
quickly met the staff at Esotype Records. The label
invited the group to be included on its first compilation
CD, and soon thereafter brought the band back into
the studio to record a full-length album which became
"You've Got Cousins".
The band is known for rarely playing a song live
the same way twice as many of the songs have the
ability to morph from full-fledged rock songs, to
intricate, hushed arrangements depending on what
instruments the band could fit in their car on the
way to the show.
Thistime Records will be releasing an album "You've
Got Cousins" in Japan.. It will be out April
5th 2006 and will include two new tracks
Meryll has toured the United States twice, and
plans on recording their 2nd full-length album
with Esotype Records in 2006
