The Primary 5 was formed
in March 2003 by ex Soup Dragons and Teenage Fanclub
drummer Paul Quinn and collaborator/guitarist
Ryan Currie.
2004 saw the completion of The Primary 5 debut
album gNorth Poleh. Released on Paulfs own Bellbeat
Music label and distributed in the UK by Shellshock.
The Primary 5 debut show at Glasgowfs King Tuts
in August 2004 gSold Outh in no time and the fan
base has grown with each passing show they play.
Another gSold Outh sign went up at King Tuts when
the band played a Christmas show (2004) there
following their very successful London debut at
Alan McGeefs Death Disco mid December 2004.
The Primary 5 kicked off 2005 with a UK tour supporting
60fs legend Arthur Lee & Love in March/April
to great reaction and reviews. The Primary 5 bandwagon
keeps rolling with the news that gNorth Poleh
has been licensed to Beatball Records in Korea,
Thistime Records in Japan and Microindie Records
in North America.
Their appearance at Purple Weekend Festival (Leon,
Spain) marks the end of the bands live appearances
(2005) to promote North Pole and will begin recording
their second album in Scotland with acclaimed
Producer Nick Brine ( Oasis, Stone Roses, Beta
Band, Bruce Springsteen, Teenage Fanclub) in Jan
2006.
