The Wellingtons（ウェリントンズ）は爽快パワーポップのかなり熱狂的な信者だ。彼らの手には多くのパワーポップの名盤が、そしてルーツにはしっかりとチャックテイラーが植わっている。
WeezerやFountains Of Wayne, They Might Be Giants,
Ben Folds, You Am I にElvis Costelloに影響を受けたパンチがあって一度聴いたら忘れられないようなはじける旋律を作ること、綺麗で元気がある彼らのメロディーをバズギターと絡みあうハーモニーで増幅させること・・・彼らの使命はとてもシンプルだ。
オーストラリア、メルボルンをベースにするパワーポッパーたちはYou Am I のTim RojersやThe
Pictures and Danny McDonaldといった男女ボーカルがフロントをとるアップビートなバンドが全豪を座倦する様をすぐ側で見ていたのだ。彼らもそんなバンドたちを同じように見て育ってきたと言える

彼らはメルボルンのコミュニティーラジオのインタビューを通じて出会い、病み付きになるパワーポップへの愛、そして現在のミュージックシーンへの失望を共有したことですぐにビビッときたのだ。
こうして彼らはオーストラリアでの熱狂的なサポートと同じようにアメリカや、スペインなどで国境を越えたサポートを受けるようになった。また、日本ではレコード会社のサポートもプロモーションもないまま口コミのみでブレイク。1000枚を超えるセールスを記録。そんな追い風の中、WellingtonsとThistimeはメロディとパワーポップというキーワードで繋がり相思相愛の形で日本盤のリリースが決定！2006年9月6日、デビューアルバム”Keeping
Up With The Wellingtons"日本盤、そして 11月15日には待望のセカンドアルバム"For Friends In Far Away Places"を続けざまに発売。同年末全国をめぐる来日公演を大成功させた。
メンバーチェンジなど紆余曲折を経て2008年ついに最新アルバムHeading North For The Winterを完成。7月9日リリースの後、9月より全国7箇所に及ぶ大規模な再来日ツアーが控えている。
