日本語がみるみる上達するLudwigは新潟でついにあの掛け声を・・・・

Day 7 – Monday 9/6

Time for Niigata! Fredrik S and Fredrik H went there by car. Me, Niklas and Richard took the train and saw lots of the countryside. We had wasabe snacks on the way up, and when we got to Niigata we had tempura on rice. Mmmm! The people arranging the show were really cool and did a great job with everything. We played with the Bawdies, and they were very tight and we could tell they had been playing a lot live, the crowd really liked them. This was our final show and we really gave everything we had, again! So we climbed the speakers, played encores and the crowd was just fantastic. I got to say “Genki desuka” and then “Genki na ariba” – to which the crowd responded something like “Nandemo kirue” and then I counted “Ich, ni, san – DA!”. Apparently that is a famous wrestler who says that. It was so fun trying to speak Japanese! After the Niigata show, we got on a train going back to Osaka.

Day 8 – Tuesday 10/6

We got to Osaka station, and then took the subway to Kansai Airport. It was sad to say goodbye to Koyo and Chie and to leave Japan. Ever since we came home to Stockholm, we have eaten a lot of sushi and ramen, but it’s just not the same taste as in Japan...And we miss playing in front of such great fans every night – we will never forget you. So thanks for coming to our shows and thanks for listening to our music. It means the world to us! Chiaki, Maco, Yumi, Michi, Kenji and all of the other wonderful people we met, thank you. And the people at Thistime Records, thank you! Our biggest thank you goes to Koyo, who drove us all over Japan, and who never complained though he rarely got to eat or sleep. I have started learning Japanese here in Stockholm, so that next time we come over I can understand more and speak more. We miss Japan and promise to come back as soon as we can!

Dreamboyのジャパンツアーダイアリー！！

Day 5 – Saturday 7/6

We got to Nagoya early morning and immediately went to sleep. Again on tatami, which I realized was a bit harder than my bed back home. But I also realized it was really good for my back, so now I’m looking for a tatami rug here in Stockholm! We bought lots of bottles of green tea at Lawson’s or the vending machines on the street – good stuff. We walked around in Nagoya a lot and bought some clothes and Richard bought a pair of new sneakers. Again, we had some sushi and sashimi – and of course with gari. So good! The venue in Nagoya was really small, so we decided to really make the audience part of the show and to give them something to remember. Some in the band think this was the best show of the whole tour. We played three encores! I learned how to say “Korega saigo no kyuku desu”, so that people would know when we were almost finished. After the show we had dinner with some of the other bands and also the people arranging the show, really nice. People said I looked like spider-man (Tobey McGuire), which I have heard back in Stockholm as well. I joked and said it was a secret – himitsu  After the dinner the other four guys in the band wanted to go to an afterparty to sing more karaoke, so they did. I was too tired so Koyo drove me home, so I could sleep.

Day 6 – Sunday 8/6

It was time to go to Osaka – a wonderful city. We walked around a lot with our translator there, his name was Rio. He was from Osaka, so he showed us the food called Takoyaki (is that the right way to spell it?), the fried octopus. Sooooo good! We had like 15 each of those...Then we met the people at the great store called Flake Records and signed some posters and stuff, they were also the ones arranging the show later that night. We played with several great bands that night as well. I learned how to say “Kite kurete arigato” and a few other words. The Osaka crowd was awesome, and we tried out a totally new song which people seemed to like! After the show we first did a radio interview and then had an afterparty at a restaurant with some of the other bands, the people from Flake Records, and many other great people. I think we had more food than we had ever had before in our lives. It was totally crazy, the food was so good we never stopped eating. It was really nice to sit down and talk to some of the other bands as well and hear about how often they rehearse, and stuff like that. A guy called Yusuke taught me some new Japanese words that I could use for the final show in Niigata...

Dreamboyのジャパンツアーダイアリー！！初ライブそして・・・・・　カラオケ地獄編！！

Day 3 – Thursday 5/6

We got up around 11 and had some breakfast. Some of us had sushi and some of us had sandwiches. We got to ride the subway in Tokyo and got off at Shibuya. Soundcheck was at 14:30, which is really early compared to Swedish shows. There you usually soundcheck around 17 or 18 and then play at 23 or later. After soundcheck, we decided to walk around in Tokyo for a while, which was really cool. Me and Niklas bought nice shirts that looked like something the Beach Boys would wear. We had some udon and some more sushi, and then headed back to the venue. We really liked watching all the bands we played with, this night it was Totos and Afterpilot. Then we played our first show of the tour, and it was amazing. We did two encores and we loved every second of the show. The crowd was really enthusiastic and I got to try some Japanese I had practised on the plane. “Nihonga daiski desu!”. We really love Japan, so it was nice to be able to say it in Japanese. Japanese is a really cool language too, I really tried to learn more and more each day. “Watashitachiwa Sweden-jin desu, nihonga hanasemasen”. Anyhow, after the show we decided it was party time! We have always wanted to try a karaoke-night (like all westeners do, right?), so we went with some people from Thistime Records and some of their friends, like Sakamoto and Kenji. We sang songs from the Beach Boys, Weezer, Oasis and Fredrik S really did an outstanding version of “Night Train” by Guns n Roses! We drank a lot, so we were pretty tired when we finally got home...

Day 4 – Friday 6/6

This day is actually Sweden’s day of independence, so everyone back home has a day off. But we don’t celebrate it very much in Sweden really. We got in the car and Koyo drove us to Utsunomiya. There, we visited Tower Records and did some signing and took some pictures with the Calendars – awesome band, by the way. Utsunomiya was a very pretty town. We were so tired when we got to the venue, we had to lie down on tatami rugs to sleep for a while. Then we got up and had some udon and tempura – delicious! Both Skybeaver and the Calendars were great that night, and we played as if it were our very last show. The crowd was great and we got to sign lots of t-shirts, posters and albums after the show. I learned how to say “Anatatachi no koto ga daiski desu!” and “Honto ni arigato gozai masu!”. We received some very nice gifts from fans as well, which was very sweet and something we will always remember.

DreamboyのLudwigがジャパンツアーダイアリーを書きました！！

Day 1 – Tuesday 3/6

We left Stockholm in the afternoon, around 16:30. The first flight was to Helsinki, Finland, which takes about one hour from Stockholm. Then we had about two hours in Helsinki airport. Since it was the beginning of a tour, we decided to have a beer. Then we got on the flight to Osaka, around 19:30 Finnish time. Then we flew through the night, the movies on the flight were terrible, so we mostly listened to our iPods.

Day 2 – Wednesday 4/6

We landed in Osaka around 12:00 Japanese time, which is 05:00 in the morning Swedish time. We hadn’t slept at all, so we were pretty tired. Then we met up with Koyo from Thistime Records, who was our tour manager, the first thing we did was to get in the car for a ten-hour-drive to Tokyo...By the time we got to Tokyo in the late evening we had been up for almost 30 hours without much sleep, maybe an hour or so. However, that didn’t stop us from having a few drinks with Shizue from Thistime Records and Chie, our translator. We also had great food at a really cool restaurant. Back home in Stockholm, we sometimes go to sushi places and it is one of our favorite kinds of food. But that first night in Tokyo, we really fell in love with the Japanese cooking. Everything was so good! Finally, we decided it was time to get some sleep.

Dreamboy、そしてThe Bawdies、Colour Sceneを愛する皆様へ

まずはじめに、6月10日に新潟JUNKBOX様で開催予定でありましたイベント「Colour Scene」弊社招聘のアーティストDreamboyの出演日程と会場を変更しなければいけない事態になったことを深くお詫びいたします。

4月に彼らのスウェーデンのレコード会社であるTMCが突然倒産したことによる混乱と、その後に弊社THISTIMEがTMC、そしてDREAMBOYの間で生じた誤解をこの来日公演を前にすべて埋めきれなかったのが原因です。楽しみにしていたにもかかわらず今回の日程変更件により、ライブに行けなくなったというファンの皆様にはおわびの申し上げようもございません。

そしてキャンセルも辞さない状況下で力の限りを尽くして日程の変更、新潟でのライブ実現のために協力してくれた、企画者であるサイドミリティア代表遠藤様、そして9日の公演でも出演を快諾してくれたThe Bawdies様、ＪＵＮＫＢＯＸ熊倉様、WOODY様、またプロモーションに携わっていただいたすべての皆様に心から感謝いたします。

少しでも多くの人がどうにか今回の公演に参加していただけますように全力で当日まで力を尽くしてまいります。本当に申し訳ありませんでした。
